Photographs capture moments. They freeze time and arrest their subject in a static form. Despite this immobility, photographic images display an astonishing agility when they come into contact with one another. Their context and proximity influence how we read them. In the juxtaposition, meanings spill over, content rubs off, and images infect one another. The interaction, arrangement, and location of photographic images can create flexible pockets of meaning in which the whole reveals more than the sum of its parts. The starting point for the exhibition project Find Me Some Words for in Between, implemented by students from the University of the Arts, lies in the question of what happens in the space between photographs.
